UTASCILT 15 is November 1-2, 2007, in Room 303 of the Chemistry and Physics Building (conference room).

Purpose

The University of Texas at Arlington Student Conference in Linguistics & TESOL is a student-led conference specifically designed to give graduate students a chance to present their original research. This is a great opportunity to join students from across America and around the world to present research on language.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. John Baugh of Washington University in St. Louis will speak on "Linguistic Diversity and Discrimination in the US and South Africa."

Dr. Baugh is a professor of Psychology, and has his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania. His recent work includes research involving linguistic profiling and prejudice, which he will be speaking on during the conference. You can read a short bio of Dr. Baugh here (PDF).
