Alumni Career Achievements

2009
- Dr. Neal Szu-Yen Liang (Ph.D. Linguistics, 2009) has accepted a position as Lecturer in Chinese in the Department of Modern Languages at Northern Arizona University.
- Erin Gonzales (M.A. Linguistics, 2008) won an Outstanding Academic Advisor award (in the category of Professional Advisor, College of Education) for 2008-2009.
- Dr. Traci Weast (Ph.D. Linguistics, 2008) is the Principal Investigator on a recently approved 4-year, $800,000 grant given by the Department of Education. Dr. Weast is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Deaf Studies and Deaf Education at Lamar University. She also has a chapter under final editing for a book on ASL phonology, and the editors of Sign Language & Linguistics have requested to publish an extended abstract (6 pages) of her dissertation.
2008
- Dr. Traci Weast has accepted a tenure track position as Assistant Professor in the department of Deaf Studies & Deaf Education at Lamar University.
- Dr. Wenhua Jin has accepted a position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Chinese in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Clark University.
